“I am the One who made the earth and created people to live on it. With my hands I stretched out the heavens.”

We can truly feel God’s creativity in this verse as God declared His majestic power in creating the heavens, the earth and all humanity. The universe was God’s canvas and He stretched it open wide. With the love of His creation and the passion of His mankind, He creatively designed this world, and beautifully & wonderfully made all of us in His very own image & likeness.

All this creativity was also imbedded in us from our Heavenly Creator, the Lord of all Creation! King David marvelled at God’s creative power that was in place all around him and said “When I look at the sky, which You have made, at the moon and the stars, which You set in their place.” We should likewise praise God for His creativity and majesty as well as use our God given creativity to glorify Him.

Far too long, the importance of creative ministries in the church has been understated. Now is the time for Godly creativity and artistic expression as a form of worship and creative arts ministries to be unleashed and used to bless the church of Jesus Christ & extend the Kingdom of God in its fullness.

 

The time has come for all of us to dream big, imagine, creatively sing, dance, write, paint, act, sculpt, and do whatever else creative that God has put into our hearts. Let us arise and glorify the Lord, our Creator with what’s in our hands, our gifting & abilities, and see His Kingdom come & His will be done on earth as it is in heaven!
